Today, on 25 January 2018, I've learned one thing about young minds - innocence.
As we approach a closed classroom, Matthew and Chloe excitedly sat on the blue small chairs. Aside from academic, I was able to train their cognitive skills where Logic and Reasoning is one big thing.
And we start...
Teacher Jake: Chloe, Teacher Jake is going to read a passage and repeat after me: "Sophia said, let's go out for a picnic at the park or near the beach".
(Chloe was able to repeat the whole passage. We focused on one of the sentences we have just read.)
Teacher Jake: Where will they go?
Chloe: At the park or near the beach.
Teacher Jake: Very Good! What will they do?
Chloe: Go out for a picnic.
Teacher Jake: Well done! Who said they wanted to go?
Chloe: You!
Teacher Jake: I mean in the passage?
Chloe: Us???
(Matthew burst into laughter! And said, "Oh my gulay...")
Teacher Jake: Don't say that Matthew. It is a replacement for Oh My God or "OMG". Which we cannot use the name of our Lord in (vain) anyhow. Instead, you cheer up Chloe by saying: Think One More Time.
(Chloe interrupted and remembered something...)
Chloe: Teacher Jake, Matthew is (pinapakain) still being fed by Ate Mavic last Sunday. I saw it!
Teacher Jake: Matthew, as you grow, you need to use what God has given you. Use your two hands and five fingers with your simple daily activities. Don't let someone fed you from now on. Is that ok? Can you do that?
Matthew: Yes, Teacher Jake!
Teacher Jake: Will you only do that at church/ school or even at home?
Matthew: Everywhere po!
Teacher Jake: Great! Because if you don't, God will give it to other people who need it the most...that they may use it for His glory. Understood? Do you want it to happen?
Matthew: No 'po'. Now I understand Teacher Jake. I saw a small little finger of a man in the airport. He has the total of six (6) fingers just at one hand. I didn't saw the other hand because we need to leave. So, I knew he must have used his hands/fingers properly.
Teacher Jake: HAHAHAHA
Well, let's memorize the Bible verse for today.
(Then, the bell rings.)
Teacher Jake: Lunch-break everyone!
Both: YEHEY!!!
Good read. Thanks for sharing. :)
